With twitter visitors increasing daily, I’m conscious that a number of readers will be fairly new to racing. Where there is jargon in articles, I will try to remember to place a link to the glossary.  All links on the blog are in bold and italics and are easily identified by hovering the mouse over them.

My name is Joe McNally.  I’ve always worked in the racing and betting business – marketing manager at Aintree in the ’90s (there for the ‘void’ National in ’93 and the Bomb Scare National in ’97).

I’ve also worked for racing’s main broadcaster SiS.  My last job was at the Tote where I was commercial director for 5 years before leaving to set up my own business.  I created the original scoop6 concept.

I’ve co-written and published seven novels with Richard Pitman (ex-top steeplechase jock) and we’ve recently re-published a few of them as eBooks. Thankfully, they’re getting plenty 4* and 5* reviews.
